Over the past few years I have built up a collection of sketchbooks containing design ideas, conceptual brain dumps and unconscious scribblings.
This collection lives on in a drawer for future reference, but can stay unseen for months. Recently, I started using a tablet and pen for this very reason. Sharing and managing concepts from a tablet is easier. Less gets forgotten.
With this rise in ease and efficiency, it’s very likely that I’m removing some of the creative messiness and vagaries of analogue technology. Still, I find it hard to completely abandon the tactile nature of good quality paper, and there will always be room for order and chaos on my desk. Long live paper.
